What Is Truck?

Truck, refers to a car mainly used to transport goods, sometimes also refers to a car that can tow other vehicles, and belongs to the category of commercial vehicles. Generally, it can be divided into two types: heavy-duty and light-duty according to the weight of the car. Most trucks use diesel engines as their power source, but some light trucks use gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas.

Type Of Trucks

Trucks are classified into mini trucks, light trucks, medium trucks, heavy trucks, and super heavy trucks according to their carrying tonnage.

Mini truck: The total mass is less than 1.8 tons.

Light truck: The total mass is 1.8-6 tons.

Medium truck: The total mass is 6-14 tons.

Heavy truck: The total mass is 14-100 tons.

Super heavy truck: The total mass is more than 100 tons.

The truck consists of four parts: engine, chassis, body and electrical system. The operation of the truck is mainly composed of the engine and the chassis participating in the movement, and the chassis includes the transmission system, the driving system, the steering system and the braking system.

The principle of truck operation: when we start the car, the engine generates power and transmits the power to the gearbox. The power passes through the gears in the gearbox to convert the high-speed and small-torque power into low-speed and high-torque power, and then transmits it to the transmission shaft. Drive the rear axle, drive the rear axle to drive the drive rear wheel to rotate, so a car will move.

Functions And Main Components Of Each Part

Although tractors are relatively complex machines, their types and sizes are also different, but they are composed of three parts:

Engine

The power source of a car. Its function is to burn fuel to generate power, and then drive the car through the drive train to drive the wheels.

Chassis

Introduce the drive system, driving system, steering system, and braking system.

Transmission system: Transmit the power of the engine to the driving wheels, mainly including clutch, gearbox, transmission shaft, and drive axle.
Driving system: connect the various assemblies and parts of the car into a whole and support the whole car to ensure the normal driving of the car. Mainly include frame, front axle, wheels, suspension.
Steering system: to ensure that the car can drive in the direction selected by the driver during driving, mainly including steering control mechanism, steering gear, and steering transmission device.
Braking system: to slow down and stop the car and ensure the reliable parking of the car. Mainly include brake operating mechanism, brake, transmission device.

Body

The place where the driver works and loads goods. Including the cab and carriage.

Electrical Equipment:

The electrical system that assists the driver in driving the car, including batteries, starting systems, lighting equipment, instruments, etc.
